Choose the warmth you need, a filling you want to live with, and a duvet you can care for. Our shortlist considers five different ways to meet those needs. Spending more should buy something you value: a different filling, a particular construction or useful seasonal flexibility.

Why it made The Edit
The Cloud combines equal proportions of bamboo viscose and recycled-polyester microfibre, with a bamboo-viscose cover and sewn-through pockets.
The Velquies Value Test
Consider it if this blend and construction appeal. Paying more for another filling should solve a specific preference.
Worth knowing
- Its fixed warmth will not suit every room or season.
- Follow the current care label: Panda specifies washing up to 30°C. An independent review gives conflicting 40°C advice.
Goose-down fill

Why it made The Edit
This selected version uses 90% Hungarian goose down and 10% feather, with 700 fill power and a cotton-sateen cover.
The Velquies Value Test
The premium buys a different filling and construction, not a promise of better sleep for everyone.
Worth knowing
- Nine tog is not a like-for-like warmth comparison with the Panda's 10.5 tog.
- Wash at 40°C and dry thoroughly on a low tumble; check the current care label and return terms.
- Ideal Home's tested all-season configuration differs from this selected single 9-tog double.
Single-layer wool

Why it made The Edit
The Medium double contains 350gsm wool and an organic-cotton percale cover. Woolroom describes the warmth as roughly equivalent to 7–10 tog.

Choose it for the wool construction if that is your preference. Allow space and time to line-dry it fully.

The extra spend makes sense when you want both wool and two-layer flexibility. If one warmth level suits you, consider the simpler Medium.

What independent testing adds
Amy Lockwood's Ideal Home review describes Panda's drape favourably, but found it warmer than wool. Her Woolroom Medium assessment notes a flatter feel and slow air drying. Those are the publisher's experiences, not Velquies test results or guarantees for another sleeper. The Scooms version tested there was an all-season configuration, not the selected single 9-tog duvet.
